Where should my focus be?

What an adventure it is to question God and journal His replies as suggested in Rivers from Eden: 40 Days of Intimate Conversation with God by Brad and Eden Jersak. I didn't include every single question - some were just too personal - that I asked God back in 2011 but this is the last one I can find in that journal where I asked God questions. It has been such a rich and beautiful experience revisiting the entire process and knowing how it enriched my relationship with Him today. Because my questioning has never really stopped...and neither has His answers.

Day 41: Where should my focus be?

Papa replied: Look at every day as separate from the next. Every day is different. All of them leading to My return.

Every day can be a new focus if you want it. It's your choice. Really Gaylene it is. Your focus can be wherever you want it to be.

I want it to be on Me. But ultimately it is your choice. Choose Me as your focus. Say no to idols. They split your focus. You will see why this is important.

More will be revealed. Focus on Me.

What Kingdom works do You have for me today?

40 questions. 40 days. 40 responses from Father God. This should have been the end. Thing is, I discovered a few more questions...and His answers.

Day 40: What Kingdom works do You have for me today?

God said: It's not too complicated Gaylene. Listen. Listen to your body. Listen to My voice. Listen to the music (I use it all the time). Listen. Learn to do it better.

Yesterday was an example of what happens when you stand still. You are strategically located in the heart of the city, in the heart of a community. You don't have to do anything more than stand and listen. Are you listening?

I wrote: Water is running. Jaye Thomas is singing We wait for you on Shekinah Glory. D is getting read for work. S is getting ready to job hunt.

Abba Father continued:
Do you not see me in that?
See My hand in that?

I replied:
Yes Lord I do.

He ended with:
Stand. Listen.

Show me Your Kingdom at work

Questioning My Heavenly Papa proved so fruitful and rewarding, I'm still in awe at the things God told me during that period in my life. And just how much potency it still has as I grow as a Christian.

Day 39: Show me Your Kingdom at work

God said: Take note of the little things Gayene. The little nuances. The things that few notice. You notice them. The space between the silence is where I do my best work. The silence does have space on each side of it. It's what makes it silence.

Healing you is my Kingdom at work. Because you carrying this even another day does not allow my Kingdom to work at its fullest. Okay?

I replied: Well that's a bit too much to claim don't you think?

He continued: Gaylene remember the humility. I need you.

I countered. I don't feel much right now. I mean I feel You but I don't hear big prophetic stuff.

He said: You're not always intended to. I want you to feel my feelings. But you know that don't you? You've always known that. My feelings are just important as some big prophetic declaration. In fact, they must coexist.
